This course is offered in German.
Learning objective:
Based on the fundamentals of Power Electronics I, the module provides detailed and application oriented knowledge of power electronic circuits and control methods. After successful completion of the course, students will be able to
- present space vector modulation methods for three-phase voltage source inverters and perform their algorithms on examples,
- explain non-ideal properties of three-phase voltage source inverters, characterise the effects and name countermeasures,
- calculate power electronic circuits with oscillating circuits and explain the concepts of ”soft switching”,
- calculate simple isolating DC/DC converters and the magnetic components used in them,
- reflect power converter concepts for high voltages and powers.
Contents:
Control methods for voltage source inverters, non-ideal properties of voltage source inverters, oscillating circuit and resonance power converters, operation with high switching frequency, isolated DC/DC converters, self-commutated converters of high power.
Previous Knowledge:
Power Electronics I or equivalent knowledge and competence
