Calculation and Design of Electrical Machines with Numerical and Analytical Calculation Programs

For calculating and dimensioning electrical machines, the magnetic circuit of the machine must be analysed. In analytical calculation schemes, the magnetic voltage drops in the single machine parts and in the air gap are calculated by means of equivalent functions  which are based on many years of experience. Numerical programs have the advantage that they can accurately calculate the magnetic field in the machine, being less prone to error. Despite of their accuracy, numerical calculation schemes take up a great deal of time. The main research task is to develop novel, more accurate analytical equivalent functions from the numerical field calculation  with the help of which a faster analytical program can continue to work.
