The main goal of this research project is to explore in how far the additive manufacturing technology is advantageous for manufacturing rotors in sensorless controlled permanent magnet synchronous machines. Within the scope of this project, various ferromagnetic materials are investigated by experiments.
Additive manufacturing has important advantages compared to conventional manufacturing methods which may be of great importance for possible applications of PMSMs as well as for the industrial manufacturing of other controlled drives.
